How to play .rm files without using RealPlayer

If you have an .rm file or similar files like RealAudio (.ra .rpm), RealMedia (.rm .ram .rmvb .rpx .smi .smil), RealText (.rt) and ReadPix (.rp), you don't have to use RealPlayer. Last time I used RealPlayer it installed all sorts of crap on my computer, and is generally bloated and plain suckware.

So if you have an rm file, how do you play it? You could convert an .rm file to an .avi file by using something like RM Converter, but there's another way.
